Call for innovative ideas for the design of a model water- and energy-efficient apartment building.  The Center for the Study of the Built Environment (CSBE) and the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation (MWI) and the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDC), invite submissions for a competition for the design of a model water- and energy-efficient low-income apartment building in Abu Alanda, Jordan.  Registration for the competition is open through January 26, 2010.  The deadline for submitting entries is May 20, 2010.  Three prizes will be awarded: first prize is USD 8450, second prize is USD 5630, and third prize ..... more

The jury for the 2009 Omrania l CSBE Student Award for Excellence in Architectural Design  has selected the winning projects.  The first prize was awarded to Rasem Kamal, Heba Al Najada, and Yousef Ahmed, University of Jordan, for their project ‘Ain Ghazal Interpretation Park; the second prize to Saud Al-Mutawa, Kuwait University, for his project A Moment of Regret and the New Beginning; and the third prize to Farah Kassab, American University of Beirut, for her project Urban Plank - Projecting the City of El Mina Back to the Sea.  The Award jury also awarded honorable mentions to ..... more
