Diran Masri Sarrar, Consultant Architects and Engineers and Bitar Associates shared the second prize in the competition for the design of a cultural village in al-Hussein Park.  No first or third prizes were awarded for the competition that was organized by the Municipality of Greater Amman.  The project covers an area of 3,600 square meters and is expected to cost about 2 million JD (2.8 million $US).  For additional information on al-Hussein Park, see the Initiation of projects section in the February 2000 news items.


DARB Shahla and Associates, received first prize in an open competition for the design of the Central Bank Building in Gaza for the Palestinian Monetary Authority.  The 12,000 square meter building is expected to cost 7 million JD (about 10 million $US).
