Construction work was
completed on the interior of the Environment
and Bio-diversity Museum for Children at the Haya
Cultural Center in Amman. Turath
(Heritage Conservation Management and Environmental Design
Consultants) designed the interior of the 180 square-meter
project, which is located in an adapted existing building, and
consists of designs for furniture, showcases, interpretive
models, and other illustrative materials. |

The Hijaz
Jordan Railway Organization, in cooperation with
Al
al-Bayt University in Mafraq, announced the
opening of a museum in
one of the buildings of the Amman
Railroad Station. The museum addresses the history
of the railroad, and is part of an effort to revitalize the
Railroad Line and reorganize its buildings to serve as tourist
attractions. The Hijaz Railroad Line, which was constructed by
the Ottoman authorities during the early twentieth century,
extends from Damascus to Madina, contains 34 stations, and
runs 452 kilometers through Jordan. |

Century
Cinema Complex in Amman opened its doors to business.
The five-cinema complex has a capacity of 850 persons, and is
located in the 42,000 square-meter Zara
Trade Center, which is connected to the adjacent
Amman Hyatt Hotel. The American architectural office of Skidmore,
Owings, and Merrill (SOM) and Sigma
Consulting Engineers carried out the designs for this
Zara Investments project. |
