October 2000 Mohammad Ar'ar, assistant professor at the Applied Sciences University in Amman, was appointed chairman of the university's Department of Architecture. Mohammad Matrouk, assistant professor at al-Isra' University in Amman, was appointed chairman of the university's Department of Architecture. The Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) approved the establishment of a master's degree program in urban planning and studies at the university's Department of Architecture. The program will be administered in collaboration with the French Paris X - Nanterre University and will begin admitting students in the 2001 - 2002 academic year.
