GDAR Group received first prize in the competition organized by the Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction (PECDAR) for the design of the expansion of the Palestinian Academy for Gifted Students building in Nablus, Palestine. The 4,000 square meter project is expected to cost 1 million JD (1.4 million $US).

The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) organized an architectural competition for the design of the Amman Nature Center. Akram Abu Hamdan, Ammar Khammash, Bilal Hammad Associates, Symbiosis Designs, and Turath (Heritage Management and Environmental Design Consultants) were invited to particpate in the competition.
