The five-chapter book discusses the historical evolution of the city, its demographic characteristics, its cultural facilities, the special characteristics of its buildings, and its organizational structure.

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Arab Architects held a meeting in Amman. Among the issues discussed at the meeting were a conference entitled "Jerusalem Now," which will be held in Morocco in November 2000, and the Second Scientific Conference of the organization, which will be held in Libya in April 2001. The meeting also discussed the possibility of posting its bulletin on the Internet. For additional information on the Organization of Arab Architects, see their web site at www.arabarchitects.org
